Archaeological Museum of Istria conservation and restoration services include primary and secondary processing of archaeological material, i.e., the conservation and restoration of objects made of ceramics, glass, metal, and stone. In addition to intervention work on materials, the department develops expert analysis, and conservation and restoration reports.

Our workshops can be visited by prior appointment to gain insight into the work and for consultations and information about conservation and restoration procedures.

Types of Interventions

  • primary processing of archaeological objects: cleaning, drying, inspection, and packaging
  • conservation and restoration work on ceramics, glass, metal, stone (including marble) objects
  • on-site treatment of mosaics, wall plasters, and frescoes
