Visit the Archaeological Museum of Istria
Through our collections, spanning periods from prehistory to the modern period, you will discover a cross-section of life that unfolded in this region. Each artefact tells its own story, and together they form an unforgettable journey through Istria's past.
The museum is currently closed for the preparation of a new permanent exhibition.
General Information
- Cameras and video cameras may be used with prior permission. For commercial photography, please send an inquiry in advance to the following address:: ured@ami-pula.hr
- Pets are allowed in the museum premises but must be on a leash and under constant owner supervision. Owners are kindly asked to bring cleaning equipment and ensure pets do not disturb other visitors or touch exhibits.
Guided Tours
- Prior notice must be provided if you wish to undertake organised guided tours of our locations.
- A request to arrange guided tours for groups and school visits must be submitted at least 10 days before a planned visit date. Please contact us at the following address:

- We do not provide tourist guiding services for the ancient monuments of Pula.
Accessibility for Persons with Disabilities
Adequate access is provided for visitors with mobility difficulties. Entry for persons with disabilities into the Archaeological Museum of Istria building is available from the front via a ramp and a lifting platform, and by elevator from the rear of the AMI building.

Parking
Parking is available at the public parking lot near the museum.
Museum Shop
Publications issued by AMI, guides, postcards, and souvenirs can currently be purchased at the amphitheatre souvenir shop and at the Temple of Augustus.
Ticket Purchase
- Tickets for the amphitheater can be purchased at the ticket offices and online: www.shop.ami-pula.hr
- Tickets for the Temple of Augustus can be purchased at the ticket offices.
- Tickets can be purchased no later than one hour before closing time.
- Entry to gallery spaces is free of charge.
- When purchasing tickets at the ticket office, an R1 invoice must be requested in advance. Subsequent issuance of an R1 invoice is not possible.
Group Visits
- For group visits of up to 25 people, free entry is provided for two chaperones. For each subsequent interval of 25 people, one additional chaperone may enter free of charge.
- For school groups of up to 25 children, free entry is provided for three chaperones. For each subsequent interval of 25 children, one additional chaperone may enter free of charge.
