AMI hosts first Istrian Student Days of Archaeology

AMI was honoured to host day one of the Istrian Student Days of Archaeology conference, organised by the Herkul Archaeology Students' Club. Opening the event programme were AMI's Luka Škabić and Maja Čuka. Škabić, who serves as an advisor to the AMI Director, spoke about the popularisation of culture and cultural heritage, while AMI museum advisor Maja Čuka focused on the accessibility of prehistoric material in exhibitions, showing how archaeology comes alive through a good story and quality communication.

Their presentations kicked off a round of specialist-focused discussions and workshops, bringing the students together in considering new ideas about the past and its interpretation.

AMI is proud to have served as the starting point for what is an important gathering, building bridges between research, community, and future specialists.

Inspired by the energy of budding archaeologists, we continue to create an environment where the past is not simply investigated—it is transformed into valuable stories that speak to everyone.
