Trakošćan – Three Foundations of Power

“Trakošćan – Three Foundations of Power” is a guest exhibition of Trakošćan Castle which, through the story of the Trakošćan Castle, the Drašković family and noble society, raises the question of how power, prestige and social standing were built and maintained over the centuries. Through three interconnected thematic units – space and property, military strength and family ties – the exhibition offers a broader view of the life of the Croatian nobility and of the values of the society in which it operated.

The exhibition will open on Thursday, 10 September, at 7 p.m. in the Sacred Hearts Museum and Gallery Space in Pula, and it brings together three previously presented exhibition themes – “Trakošćan: From Fortress to Museum”, “The Soldiers of Count Josip Kazimir Drašković” and “Who Is Marrying Whom Here?” – linking them into one broader story about the life and the social standing of the nobility.

The authors of the exhibition are Andreja Srednoselec, Ivan Mravlinčić and Vladimir Brnardić, and the curators are Andreja Srednoselec and Ivan Mravlinčić.

We invite all those interested to join us at the opening and to discover the story of the three foundations of power.

We look forward to seeing you!
