The Archaeological Museum of Istria proudly hosted the 9th International Numismatic Congress in Croatia, held on November 14 and 15, 2025, in Pula.
This traditional gathering, held since 1995, brought together renowned numismatists from the region. Co-organizers were the Croatian Numismatic Society and the Opatija Branch of Matica hrvatska, under the patronage of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
This year's congress featured a rich program of lectures and discussions on numismatic topics, from new research, analysis, and conservation to contemporary digital tools. More than twenty experts presented the latest findings covering periods from antiquity to modern times, through three thematic sessions focused on the earliest monetary circulation, the Middle Ages, and early modern numismatics.
Such events confirm the importance of international cooperation, professional dialogue, and continuous research in the development of numismatics as a historical discipline.
